The company is owned and run jointly by two young guys from India and England, and we understand that the role of the tour guide is vitally important for your enjoyment of the various tours that we run. All the guides speak very good English and have had extensive training so are able to explain in detail the places that we visit. They are also all young, come from modest backgrounds, and are genuinely interested in our customers- this and the fact that we only have group sizes of 5 maximum makes the exchange so much more than just what you visit.

We have a NO TIPS POLICY to make the tour as comfortable for you as possible, and we ask you to fill out questionnaires to maintain standards- we take pride in the positive feedback both from these and from comments made on our discussion forum and in the press.

Krishna Poojari (Owner/ Director)

Krishna comes from a small village called Heranjalu in Karnataka. He came to Mumbai 13 years ago and has worked in a number of jobs, primarily in the catering industry. He loves playing and watching cricket.

Krishna is in charge of the day to day running of the tours, and is the person who takes calls on our 24 hour number should you wish to contact us.

Chris Way (Owner/ Gen Manager)

Chris is from the UK and has been living permanently in Mumbai since October 2004. He first came to the city in November 2002, when he volunteered for four months in a school for slum children. Before finally settling here, he travelled extensively in South East Asia, Australia, New Zealand and Brazil and lived in Malaga in the South of Spain during his University gap year. His passions are playing and watching sport, especially rugby, learning languages and avoiding the winter in the UK! By profession he is a part-qualified chartered accountant.

Chris is responsible for researching and developing all aspects of the company, as well as for maintaining the website and responding to emails.

Ravi Mishra (Tour Guide)

Ravi comes from Bhopal and came to Mumbai 3 years ago. He has been with us since we started, albeit with a brief break when he returned home. Previously he has worked for several industries including call centres and a fashion company.

He is a big fan of music- Hindi and Western- and he loves to talk..... Beware!

Sunil Chettira (Tour Guide)

Sunil was born and has lived all his life in Mumbai, although his parents are from a small beautiful place called Coorg in Karnataka. He likes to paint, to listen to music and to read books.

Girish Poojary (Tour Guide)

Girish was born in Mumbai but his family is from Mangalore, in Karnataka. He likes playing cricket and football, and listening to all kinds of music.

Devendra Tank (Tour Guide)

Dev (pronounced "Dave") has lived in Dharavi all his life with his family, staying in the pottery area called Kumbharwada, which is part of the tour. Dev now works full time with an investment bank but occasionally does the tours on the weekend.

Dev enjoys playing and watching cricket, reading, and roaming with friends.

Suraj Puralkar (Driver)

"Babu" was born in Mumbai, in Worli. His first passion is music- his favourite artist is Himesh Refhamiya- a well known Bollywood singer and actor. And of course he loves playing and watching cricket.

Azania Thomas (Design and Marketing Executive)

Azania was born in Mumbai, and is currently living in Mexico until May. She designed the website and the company's promotional literature, handles the Public Relations side of the business, and is a key member of the company's marketing strategy. She likes listening to music and travelling.

Ashok Harikeri(English Teacher)

Ashok lives in Dharavi and teaches in a government school in Chembur as well as with us. His family are from Karnataka although he has lived in Mumbai all is life. He likes to read, to listen to music and use the internet to, in his words, "chat and gossip"!

Shaikh Mohammed Wasil (Watchman)

Shaikh Mohammed is from Uttar Pradesh but now lives in Dharavi. He is married with five sons. He likes to watch news channels on TV and read the newspapers.
