SCHOOL TOURS

We believe that touring Dharavi is an educational experience in so many ways. One learns about the various industries in the area, such as recycling, leather, food, clothing and pottery. We also visit a primary school on the tour.

It is also a great opportunity to understand better some of the issues facing the slum residents, and to break down any negative image that some people have about slums and its inhabitants. What you see in Dharavi is hard work, enterprise and friendly people.

The response of the residents to the children has been great. They seem genuinely happy to see them.

Up to now, we have done tours for the "Ecole Francaise de Bombay" (French School of Bombay) and the American School of Bombay. They have proved to be very popular with the schools.

Besides the tour, we can also arrange for pottery classes within Kumbharwada- one of the places we show on the tour. This has been very popular.

We operate these tours at a very big discount. If you would like to know more, please contact us by email or by phone.
